The Show

One of the main focuses of this year's Grand Designs Live London was sustainability, a topic that everyone at VELUX is proud to be continuously supporting. We strongly believe that the more natural light we have in our homes, the better for our health and the environment.

After all, 27% of carbon emissions come from your home. But by supplying it with natural light instead of artificial light you can help change this statistic.

Visitors to Grand Designs Live London could come along and see this for themselves, at the Log House which was featured in the Grand Village section of the show. Not only do Log Houses produce no carbon in the overall manufacture due to the use of local and renewable timber, they have a pressure test rating of 2.63. Which is far better than the average new build and streets ahead of most older buildings.

Fitted with VELUX Roof Windows and VELUX Solar Collectors, the Log House is a fully functional, energy-efficient home that demonstrates our commitment to sustainability.

We were also delighted to partner the Future Forest, where visitors were invited to come along and make their pledge to improve the environment. For the pledges made, we'll show our commitment by making a donation to the Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity.
