The Log House
At Grand Designs Live London in 2008 visitors to the show could come and see the Log House which was featured in the Grand Village section of the show. Fitted with VELUX Roof Windows and VELUX Solar Collectors, the Log House was a fully functional, energy efficient home that demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and the environment. We were excited to be part of this project with the Log House Company and their MD, Michael Balls.
We believe natural light is fundamental to the quality of our lives and living environments. More than any other element, its many moods and variations can help you make a house a real home. Not only does it create an atmosphere, it can actually alter the way we feel about living spaces. During the initial design and planning stages, a number of options were proposed for the Log House and these can be viewed below. The finished version of the Log house that featured at Grand Designs Live London differed slightly, although you can see below that the outcome was very impressive.
